- Premier League clubs are trying to create an association within the MFA (a sort of Football League which would be however within the association) that runs the Premier League and all that concerns Premier clubs. This is one of the proposals included in a memorandum which will be discussed with MFA President Dr Joe Mifsud. Other proposals include the increase of the number of foreigners in the Premier League from three to five and the increase of the per cent share from gate-money from 60 to 80.

- Floriana's protest regarding the ineligibilty of Hibs' Essie M'Bong was not upheld due to a technical mistake committed by the Greens. Floriana had filed the protest later than 24 hours after the end of the match as it should have been done.
- National coach Josif Ilic included Rabat striker Adrian Mifsud and Naxxar goalie Reuben Debono in the 21-man squad for the friendly match against Bosnia-Hercegovina which will be played on the 20th January. Richard Buhagiar also returns in the squad after undergoing a surgery while Darren Debono was omitted due to a one-match suspension inflicted by UEFA.

- It seems that Premier clubs have reached an agreement with regards to the format of next season's Premier League. It will still be based on three rounds but for the third round, clubs will be divided in a Championship and Relegation Pool.
