- Yugoslavia could be expelled from the EURO 2000 following an appeal by the European Union to all sports federations to isolate Yugoslavia from international competitions. This would mean that Group 8 which was made up by Croatia, Ireland, Macedonia, Malta and Yugoslavia would be reduced to a group made up of just four teams. Malta was due to travel to Yugoslavia to play against the Yugoslavs on June 9th. However since this match will not take place, this date would be used for the Croatia-Malta match which was postponed last March. A final decision will be taken on the 11th May.
