- In an interview with Mark Cutajar in the programme L-Argument on Super ONE TV, Naxxar Lions president Michael Zammit Tabona confirmed that he will be quitting his post as promised earlier this season. He had promised to resign if Naxxar fail to win a place in European competitions. He announced that as part of a restructuring plan within the club, Naxxar were putting all their players on the transfer list.
- Gozo FC president Joe Micallef announced that the club will take disciplinary action against some of the players whose conduct on the pitch in Saturday's direct clash against Rabat Ajax was deplorable. During the match, some of the players seemd to be very tense and nervous. They had coach Alfred Cardona together with Djebriel Sylla and Mark Buttigieg sent off.

- Pietà Hotspurs were found guilty of having four foreigners in squad during the last match against Valletta. It seems that although Marian Metlarov had already left the island to return to Bulgaria, he was not released officially. They used Bulgarian midfielder Martin Deanov and Italian goalie Gianluca Porcarelli, who was making his debut. Bulgarian defender Sacho Anguelov was suspended.

- The MFA Protests' Board turned down the protest filed by Pietà Hotspurs regarding the alleged ineligibility of Kim Wright in last Sunday's match between Pietà and Floriana. Therefore the result, a 3-2 win for Floriana is to stay.

- Pietà Hotspurs filed a protest against the result of last Sunday's game against Floriana FC which they lost 3-2. The Hotspurs claim that Floriana have made use of an ineligible player since Kim Wright cannot register as a Maltese player because he has already played for a New Zealand national selection.
- McDonald's apologised for a Dutch TV advert which ridiculed Malta and the Maltese national team. The television advert showed actors dressed as Maltese national football team players taking part in a McDonald's competition for tickets for EURO 2000, the only way the Malta side could ever make it to the finals. A spokeswoman for McDonalds Netherlands said that they had sent a letter of apology to the MFA and that the advert will be stopped.

- The Malta Football Association is considering taking legal actions over a television advert which is being shown in Holland. This advert for the food franchise McDonald's ridicules Malta and the Maltese national team implying that the only way that they can make it to the EURO 2000 is to win a ticket to watch the games. The advert shows the team and coach, played by actors dressed in the red Maltese shirt, arriving on a Maltese bus at a stadium, and then training. The coach wishing them luck and the players go to a McDonald's restaurant where they get the chance to win tickets to the final. Currently the food franchise in Holland is offering tickets for the EURO 2000 final. In the background, the Maltese national anthem is used.
